Treviso: a hidden gem just a short walk away
The city of Treviso holds all its charm within the ancient walls of its historic center… or even on top of the walls!
The stretch between Porta San Tommaso and Porta Santi Quaranta can be walked along the upper part, on the inner side, surrounded by greenery and offering a double view: one over the old town, the other over the canal that gently surrounds the city.
This leafy walkway often hosts local events, markets, food stalls, and even open-air concerts — a wonderful way to experience the city walls, now beautifully restored and appreciated.
From our property, you can reach the walls in just 10 minutes on foot, entering the historic center through Porta Fra’ Giocondo.
For first-time visitors, Treviso’s city center is often an unexpected delight: cozy, well-kept, and full of charming corners.
Water is everywhere — flowing through the town, forming little waterfalls and romantic views — a touch of Venetian beauty, but in a quieter and more intimate setting.
Then there’s the atmosphere: the center is full of small bars, wine spots, and restaurants, where you can enjoy traditional cicchetti with a glass of wine or a craft beer.
On Friday and Saturday evenings, Treviso comes alive: young people and locals gather at the outdoor tables in a lively and cheerful mood — never chaotic, always inviting.
In the photos beside: Piazza dei Signori, the beating heart of the city; the Loggia dei Cavalieri, with two girls chatting about the future; and a view of Piazza Monte di Pietà, just behind Piazza dei Signori, where you’ll find a variety of local spots and restaurants — including the famous Le Beccherie, birthplace of the beloved dessert, Tiramisù.
